We need to rethink divine violence in the Old Testament… because of what Jesus taught about God. Great blog here by Nathan Jennings:

Matthew 18:21-22
So is God the theif that destroys and takes life? Is God not like Jesus and so doesn’t forgive God’s own enemies?

What is your point? A “schizophrenic” God? Ever heard about Armageddon, some 2 months after Jesus’ return, meeting out His wrath on the murderous persecutors of His, by then, resurrected children in Heaven? Yes, God is love, like you would like to be, but would you let strangers murder your children and wife in front of you? God is LOVE yes, but not a sissy either. By the way, Hell is worse than death.
